Full Name, Age & Origins

Jaeden Wesley Lieberher Martell was born on January 4, 2003, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, making him 22 years old.  His heritage is diverse—his father, Wes Lieberher, is a celebrated Los Angeles-based chef, while his mother, Angela Teresa Martell, traces her roots back to Korea through Jaeden’s maternal grandmother.

Family Background & Early Life

Growing up in South Philadelphia, Jaeden was the oldest of four siblings: one sister and two brothers. At age 8, when his parents divorced, he and his mother moved to Los Angeles, a turning point for his future acting career.  During his childhood, he appeared in commercials for brands such as Hot Wheels, Google, Hyundai (Super Bowl spot), Verizon, Liberty Mutual, and GE.

Career Beginnings & Breakthrough

Jaeden made his feature film debut at age 11 in “St. Vincent” (2014), where he played Oliver Bronstein alongside Bill Murray. His performance earned him a Critics’ Choice nomination and two youth acting awards.  He continued to build momentum with supporting roles in “Aloha” (2015), Jeff Nichols’ sci-fi “Midnight Special” (2016), and “The Confirmation.”

His major breakout came in 2017, starring as Henry Carpenter in The Book of Henry and most notably playing Bill Denbrough in the smash-hit horror film “It”, which grossed over $700 million worldwide.  He reprised his role in “It: Chapter Two” (2019), followed by critically praised performances in The Lodge, Low Tide, and the multi-ensemble murder mystery Knives Out

Television & Streaming Roles

In addition to film, Jaeden played recurring character Johnny Masters in the Showtime series “Masters of Sex” (2015–16). He later delivered a powerful performance as accused teen Jacob Barber in Apple TV+’s miniseries “Defending Jacob” (2020). TV roles include voice work on American Dad!, an appearance in Barry (2023), and a standout cameo in Rick and Morty shorts.
